Highline Premier Football Club

HPFC will provide instruction for U7 through to U14. All players will be placed into academy groups based on their ability. Sessions for players will be 90 minutes. All players are provided with an HPFC academy t-shirt.

Achieving technical excellence in the fundamentals of the game demands a patient and meticulous approach. Repetition is key to learning, and repetition is not achieved by teaching a different soccer fundamental each week. Each academy season will comprise a limited number of inter-related fundamentals and coaches will not progress onto another topic until a certain level of success is gained in the topic being taught. The techniques to be focused on are as follows:

The HPFC Development Academy places great importance on the evaluation of its academy members. All players receive a comprehensive player evaluation at the end of each academy season. Each evaluation states the learning objectives that were taught, and then the following areas are discussed:

• player effort, focus and interaction with others
• a review of which learning objectives have been achieved
• priority improvement areas and action plan
